🧠 A Story from My Past: The Tale of Two Interns at Nexora Dynamics
A few years ago, I was leading a strategic content initiative at a fast-growing tech consultancy—let’s call it Nexora Dynamics. We had just onboarded two bright interns: Aarav and Nisha. Both were equally talented, eager, and full of ideas. But within weeks, their paths began to diverge.
Aarav was placed in a team led by a collaborative manager who encouraged experimentation and celebrated small wins. He was invited to brainstorming sessions, given ownership of a micro-campaign, and mentored through feedback loops. His confidence soared.
Nisha, on the other hand, was assigned to a team that operated in silos. Her manager was often unavailable, and the team culture leaned toward “just get it done.” She delivered on tasks, but her ideas rarely saw the light of day. Over time, her enthusiasm dimmed.
By the end of the internship, Aarav had a portfolio of projects and a job offer. Nisha had learned a lot—but mostly about what kind of environment she didn’t want to work in.
That experience stayed with me. It reminded me that talent is only one part of the equation. The environment—the people, the energy, the culture—can either amplify your potential or quietly erode it.
